Mrs. Anu Bala

Mrs. Anu Bala is serving as an Assistant Professor in Music (Vocal) has 15 years teaching experience in the field of music. She is expert in Classical Vocal and Gurmat Sangeet.      

 She has made significant contributions to research in music and cultural studies. Her published works include research papers and book chapters such as Sheikh Farid and His Bani in Guru Granth Sahib (2023), Sarojini Naidu: Pride of India (2022), Mahia and Dhola: A Cultural Reflection of Punjabi Music (2022), and Revisiting the Guru Nanak Divine Journey (2022). Her recent publications include Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel: Architect of Indian Unity and Freedom (2024), Qawwali: A Journey from Tradition to Bollywood (2024), and Classical Music and Its Influence on Bollywood Music Industry (2024). She has also contributed to research on Sufi music, Punjabi music heritage, and the transformation of vocal music training from the Guru-Shishya Parampara to online learning.

In addition to her publications, her edited book titled The Sound of Equality: The Influence of Women in Music is currently under publication.

She is a lifetime member of prestigious organizations such as the Harivallabh Sangeet Mahasabha, Jalandhar, and the Shakuntla Dutta Music Circle, Jalandhar. Her area of specialization includes Classical Vocal and Gurmat Sangeet.

Mrs. Anu Bala has actively participated in academic events and has presented research papers at national and international seminars and conferences, including those organized by Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, and Shaheed Udham Singh Government College, Karnal.

She has achieved notable recognition in the field of music.

ACHIVEMENTS

1.Approved (A-Grade) in Gurbani Sangeet and (B-High Grade) in Classical Vocal singing from All India Radio and Doordarshan, Jalandhar and performed in the programmes time to time.

2. Performed in Namdhari Sangeet Centre at London (UK)2005

3. Performed in the Raga Darbar organized by Gurmat Sangeet department of Punjabi University, Patiala.

4. Performed in Gurbani Sangeet Music Concert organized by Directorate of All India Radio at Sri Fort Auditorium 2008.t

5. Performed in the National Music Concert Harivallabh Sangeet Mahasabha , Jalandhar 2011

6.Performed in International Music Concert RUHANIYAT organized by Banyan Tree, Mumbai.

7 . Performed in Devotional Music Concert Organized by Punjabi Academy, New Delhi.

8. Performed in SWAR UTSAV National Music Concert organized by India Today Group, New Delhi(2014).

9. Performed in India Music Summit music concert organized by MTV at Jaipur in October 2017.

10. Performed at the residence of Former Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji .

11.Performed at the residence of Hon’ble  EX C.M . Delhi Late Smt. Sheela Dixit Ji and got appreciations from these legendary personalities. 


Furthermore, she has delivered lecture-cum-demonstrations at national seminars and has actively participated in various national and international conferences, including UGC-sponsored seminars and conferences focusing on higher education and cross-cultural studies. Through her academic, research, and performance contributions, Mrs. Anu Bala continues to play a significant role in promoting and preserving the rich tradition of Indian music.
